CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE FOR TEMPORARY INTERMEDIATE COUPLER SYSTEM

The following shows the construction sequence when using GTI Zero Void Intermediate Couplers® in a “temporary” situation.  A temporary situation would be at a construction joint or location that the Temporary Intermediate Cap is deemed appropriate for aggressiveness of the environment.

The construction sequence demonstrates how the GTI Zero Void Intermediate Coupler® works in a temporary situation.  The tendon is installed as a stressing-end prior to concrete placement; the tendon is stressed using a threaded barrel anchor; the tendon tail is cut using a GTI Plasma Cutter; the coupler comes shop attached to the new pour’s tendon and is attached to the threaded barrel anchor; and, the finished product in the concrete.
