Description:  This projected was started in April of 2008 and is expected to be completed by September of 2010. This project sits on a 55-acre parcel leased from the state and adjacent to SOUTHCOM's current headquarters. GTI® supplied GTI Composite Bar Supports® for the tilt-up concrete panels. There were 298 tilt-up panels erected on this project. The site will meet the Department of Defense's antiterrorism and force protection standards. The structure, which employs a progressive collapse design, is built to endure 155-mph sustained winds and 185-mph gusts. The facility will provide operational space for about 2,883 personnel. It will hold the administrative offices, medical clinic, fitness center, child development center, conference and business centers and other support areas. The project team aims for LEED-silver certification.
Over 200,000 lf of GTI Slab Bolster was used and over 38,000 individual GTI PC Chairs of various sizes were utilized.
